In the FSU paper mail delivery is often subject to loss. None the less, there is little that can replace getting a nice letter from overseas, a nice card or photos on real paper. Writing paper mail is a good way to solidify the correspondence you might be involved with. I have found that Russian women really appreciate these letters as tangible contact with you.

Notes:
The Belarussian Postal service requires the FULL name for delivery of registered and express mail.
When sending paper mail into the FSU we recommend registered letters.
Packages with a value of more than $100 are subject to a 30% import tax.
Replying to your letters via regular post might cause a financial burden
