Easter in Belarus
Here is our photo reportage from the most important religious holiday in
the FSU named Easter, or "Paskha" in Russian. This holiday is being very
seriously considered by all Russian people as they associate this date with
a resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as other faithful people in the
world. This year Easter took place on the 5th of May. This means that
a lot of Gomel people spent the night from May 4th to May 5th in
the church. They brought the special home maid bred named "Paskha" and
painted eggs in order the main priest to bless it with holly water.
Since the communist timing when any religion except for the communism was
informally expatriated, more and more Belorussian people have started to abide by
the old Christian traditions and the photos below can prove it.
